Women in Ancient Athenian Religion

Description

The objective of this study is to assess and then examine how important the roles of women in the practice of religion in classical Athens were. Thus to examine the extent as well as the importance of the roles of women in the practice of religion in classical Athens, a variety of primary and also secondary historical sources of information will be evaluated. Indeed it is anticipated that these primary and secondary sources of historical information will help to provide insights into whether or not the role of women in the practice of religion in classical Athens was important or in fact significant at all.
