Giving Makes Me Happy
Giving brings more joy into my life. The more I give, the happier I become.
When I give, I feel a stronger connection with others. I delight in showing my friends and family how much I love them. Even doing a small favor for a stranger makes me like them more.
Giving builds my confidence. I see that I am talented and accomplished. I have so much to share with the world.
I remind myself that once my material needs are satisfied, I can find more pleasure in giving than in acquiring more stuff. I choose to focus on people rather than possessions.
I give my time. I listen to a friend who needs to talk about losing her job or earning a big promotion.
I give my knowledge, skills, and labor.I tell a new neighbor where to find a good plumber or florist. I weed the flower beds in my local community garden.
I give my compassion and love. I practice forgiveness. I care about others, and show them that I am interested in their lives.
I spread my happiness around. Giving is contagious. My generosity can inspire others to open their hands and hearts.I create a greater sense of well-being and contentment wherever I go.
Today, I turn each interaction I have with others into an opportunity to give. Generosity makes my life more meaningful and satisfying.
